Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University’s NMFWRI seeks field technicians to assist ecological monitoring and restoration across NM, AZ, and CO. You’ll work in forest environments, frequently in remote locations, supporting crew leads and NMHU staff in data collection and reporting.

Role requires travel, ability to hike, and readiness for variable field conditions. Pay is commensurate with experience; funding-dependent for the position.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with ecological monitoring protocols.
• Experience with data collection and field measurements.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote field locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field measurements and assessments of forest resources and ecological indicators in remote terrains.
• Enter field data using database software with accuracy.
• Support staff in data analysis and reporting for restoration projects.
