Job summary

Auburn University’s College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor and Extension Specialist in forest business/forest economics. This tenure-track, 12-month position emphasizes 65% Extension and 35% teaching.

The successful candidate will build an extramurally funded program addressing economics, costs of forestry practices, forest microenterprises, markets, and related education and outreach for private landowners and the forest

Qualifications

• PhD in forestry or related field to start employment.
• Strong written, organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel with a current unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement undergraduate and graduate forestry and forest business programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address educational needs in Alabama and beyond.
• Deliver niche technical training and service programs for Regional Extension Agents, organizations, private sector, and federal agencies.
• Secure extramural funding to support programs.
• Teach two to three courses per year and mentor graduate students.
