Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers, LLC. - A Salas O'Brien Company is seeking an experienced Structural Investigative Engineer / Forensic Engineer to join our team.

You will investigate structural damage, analyze causes, and prepare clear reports with actionable recommendations for clients. The role requires PE licensure, strong knowledge of building codes, and the ability to lead engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Strong knowledge of building design codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and develop recommendations for complex and unconventional projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigate commercial and residential facilities to determine the cause and origin of structural damage, defects and failures.
• Analyze damage to facilities and structures and assess potential threats.
• Prepare accurate, clear, thorough reports outlining the cause and origin of damages with corrective-action recommendations.
• Apply engineering judgment to unusual and/or complicated projects and situations.
• Submit reports and documents to clients timely and in accordance with client standards.
• Manage other engineers and technicians.
• Some travel will be required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering

Master’s degree (preferred)

Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
