Job description

**Forensic Services Coordinator – LGU** **Broome County Mental Health Department (BCMHD)** **Binghamton, New York - Onsite** **Nonexempt, Full-Time 40 Hours** **Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000/year*** Programmatic oversight and coordination of statutory obligations to Department including court-ordered evaluations, specialty problem-solving courts (i.e. Mental Health Treatment Court, Drug Treatment Court, Veteran’s Court, etc.) facilitated within Broome County.* Monitoring and coordination of Designees of the Director of Community Services (DCS) pursuant to Mental Hygiene Law including communication and reporting to the DCS.* Provide program vision and development of system-wide reentry service/support continuum to include housing, care management, treatment services, and support for justice-involved individuals.* Address systemic needs related to justice-involved individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), and Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Co-occurring Disorder, and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD).* Problem-solve case-specific and system-wide issues in collaboration with system partners. Advocate for those facing barriers to service access.* Work closely with the Adult Single Point of Access (A-SPOA) Team to ensure coordination of care efforts for justice-involved populations (e.g.: re-entry from NYS prison, County jail, Medication Grant Program, etc.).* Develop and maintain communication and collaborative relationships with local, regional, and state service providers.* Establish and/or monitor policies and procedures to ensure effective workflow.* Develop, track, and report metrics to demonstrate effective program operations.* BCMHD.* Represent the LGU through regular participation on community boards, coalitions, and committees.* Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.- Preferred: Current, Valid Licensure by New York State Education Department as: * Qualified Mental Health Staff Person in accordance with 14 NYCRR 595; **OR** * Non-Physician Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner (NP-LBHP) in accordance with 14 NYCRR 598 or 599; **OR** * Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) in accordance with 14 NYCRR 512.4* Competency in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (current edition) diagnoses as pertinent to Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), and Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Co-occurring Disorder, and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) eligibility criteria.* Ability to work with individuals, agencies/organizations, and families positively and productively and use strategies outside the parameters of standard service delivery.* Ability to be flexible, organized, and work independently, yet be amendable to supervision.* Thorough knowledge of effective communication strategies and formats.* Communicating effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills* Building collaborative relationships* Valuing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment* Striving for self-development and taking initiative to be resourceful* Problem-solving both independently and with others* Respect the confidential nature of all CCSI and CCSI customer information you are exposed to in the course of your work performance.
