Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) — Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita — seeks Forensic Officers responsible for safeguarding a 24/7 inpatient behavioral health facility.

Primary duties include inspecting facilities for hazards, enforcing regulations, patrolling, assisting staff, transporting consumers as needed, and responding to emergencies. Requires OSBI background check and valid driver's license; shifts rotate day and night.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Level I – No experience or education required.
• Must be able to pass OSBI background check.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and grounds for fire hazards and security risks.
• Enforce laws, rules, and regulations; provide security against threats.
• Patrol premises, assist staff and movement of consumers, transport to appointments.
• Respond to medical emergencies and unit calls as needed.
