Job summary

Requirements include a BSN, RN license (compact acceptable), and BLS; NCC certification within 1 year preferred. Two years in related areas (ED/OB/Women's Health) are favored.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years of experience in a related clinical area (ED, OB or Women's Health preferred).
• Current RN license (compact multistate acceptable) and BLS; NCC certification within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care tailored to patient age and population, ensuring understanding and comfort with treatment.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments to determine nursing care needs and discharge planning.
• Develops and revises the plan of care in collaboration with physicians and other disciplines; provides education tailored to health issues.
• Implements interventions per established plan; follows nursing protocols and maintains patient safety.
• Evaluates patient response to care and communicates changes; prepares shift reports and ensures continuity of care.
• Maintains professional behavior and participates in performance improvement activities; supports infection control and safety guidelines.
