Job summary

State of Missouri is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center (NMPRC) in St. Joseph. The RN will review medical records, coordinate assessments, and assist in discharge planning within a forensic psychiatric setting.

This role may also supervise other nurses on a shift and support public health services where needed. The position emphasizes adherence to nursing standards and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based

Qualifications

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and standards.
Knowledge of pharmacology, nutrition, aseptic techniques, and related sciences.
Ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct nursing staff.
Ability to administer therapeutic prescriptions under supervision.
Ability to assess and plan nursing care for patients.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and families.
Ability to work varied schedules including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the medical treatment team and review medical records.
Coordinate assessments from disciplines and participate in discharge planning.
Oversee RN staff on shifts and monitor patient care.
Provide potential public health services such as assessment and case management.
