Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering, FE certification, and PE licensure within a year, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Advanced degrees are highly valued.
• FE exam completed.
• PE licensure or ability to complete within one year.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including knowledge of machinery and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; local travel required.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic assignments in mechanical engineering based on a defined scope and budget.
• Investigate causes of incidents and determine if mechanical failure occurred.
• Inspect sites and equipment; analyze equipment and prepare sketches and calculations.
• Conduct analyses on equipment, machinery design, and materials; assess failures and liabilities.
• Prepare oral and written reports documenting analysis, scope, and remediation steps.
• Provide expert opinions and testimony in deposition or trial when required.
• Manage multiple projects and collaborate with other experts as needed.
• Use engineering tools and safety standards to analyze issues and prepare findings.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and communicate results clearly.
