Qualifications

  • Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis.
  • OR an associate degree in general office occupations with two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming physical evidence and related paperwork to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and evidence packaging guidelines.
  • Independently evaluate submitted evidence and requests to determine if testing is within the laboratory’s scope; if not, remediate or return for correction.
  • Represent OSP FSD professionally and treat customers with respect, forming part of the laboratory system with attention to detail.
  • Maintain security and chain of custody for evidence, including handling hazardous and contaminated materials.
  • Assist law enforcement, attorneys, and the public, with internal support for laboratory staff.
  • Work with little supervision, make independent judgments, and interpret policies in routine and non-routine situations.
  • Handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and work with others to meet laboratory goals.
