Job summary

SNA International is seeking a Forensic Imaging Specialist to support the DPAA in Hawaii, performing historical research, photography, and related duties on-site at the DPAA lab.

Responsibilities include capturing evidence photographs, maintaining labs and equipment, and creating visual materials for reports and publications, while collaborating with analysts and staff to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certificate in photography or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in scientific/forensic photography.
  • Experience in Graphic Design.
  • Demonstrate photographic principles and strong imaging skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

  • Take still photographs of evidence in laboratory settings for chain of custody and document imaging in records.
  • Photograph evidence to supplement reports and publications.
  • Maintain photography equipment and photographic lab spaces.
  • Design scientific posters with client staff.
  • Maintain photographic directory of client staff (monthly updates).
  • Produce and update graphical products (field guides, visual aids).
  • Teach basic photography skills to client staff.
  • Collaborate with analysts and staff; take direction as needed.
  • Assist lab personnel by answering questions and troubleshooting LIMS issues.

Description

SNA International, theGlobal Leader in Forensics, Biometrics, and Identity Intelligence, is currently looking for a Forensic Imaging Specialist to support the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), at the DPAA lab in Hawaii, by conducting historical research and writing, as well as assisting with related activities for DPAA’s Indo Pacific Directorate.

  • This is a 100% onsite position at the DPAA lab in Hawaii.
Critical Work Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Take still photographs of evidence in a laboratory setting for chain of custody purposes and ensure imaging are documented in appropriate records.
  • Take photographs of evidence to supplement reports and publications.
  • Maintain photography equipment and photographic laboratory spaces.
  • Design scientific posters in conjunction with client staff.
  • Maintain photographic directory of client staff (updated monthly).
  • Produce and update graphical products (e.g., field guides, visual aids, etc.), as required.
  • Teach basic photography skills to client staff.
  • Work closely with analysts and other members of staff, and be able to take direction when required.
  • Assists lab personnel by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing feedback regarding LIMS as required by the LIMS Project Leads.
  • Follow all Government policies and procedures.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
  • Associate degree or certificate in photography or a directly related field.
  • Professional photography experience may be substituted for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • One (1) year of experience in scientific or forensic photography.
  • Experience in Graphic Design.
  • Demonstrate work history using photographic principles, as well as excellent technical skills in photographic imaging.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to adapt communication styles to different audiences.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
