Job summary

State of Minnesota seeks an Evidence Intake Forensic Laboratory Technician 1 or 2 and Management Analyst 1 or 2 to support the BCA Forensic Science Services. Onboarding begins at St. Paul headquarters with relocation to the new Mankato Regional Office planned for spring 2027.

The role includes ensuring proper evidence receipt, data-driven analyses, and collaboration with forensic scientists and external customers. Eligible applicants must meet minimum education and experience requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of professional laboratory experience (Management Analyst 1).
• 2 years of professional laboratory experience (Management Analyst 2).
• Bachelor’s degree with science coursework required for minimal qualification.

Responsibilities

• Receive and record evidence in LIMS and return to submitting agency after analysis.
• Provide technical support and administrative analysis to forensic scientists and clients.
• Prepare case materials and reports for discovery under MN Rules.
• Assist Data Practices in responding to requests for laboratory records.
• Train technicians in Evidence Intake responsibilities.
