Job summary

The Center for Human Identification (CHI) at UNT Health is seeking a Forensic Analyst to conduct forensic DNA analysis on evidence and provide testimony on methods and findings. The role emphasizes meticulous data interpretation and adherence to QA/PROTOCOLS within a high-stakes lab environment.

Requires a bachelor's in biology, chemistry, or forensic science with relevant coursework; Texas FSC license is preferred. Typical schedule is Mon–Fri 8am–5pm, with ongoing CE and proficiency testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or forensics with relevant coursework.
  • Completed molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and statistics coursework.
  • Texas Forensic Science Commission license or eligibility often required.

Responsibilities

  • Casework examination following QA guidelines and manuals.
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and report generation of serological and DNA results.
  • Provide expert witness testimony as required.
  • Participate in validation and lab projects; complete proficiency tests twice yearly.
  • Complete continuing education and review current literature.
