Job summary

NHS Scotland's State Hospital seeks a Nursing Assistant (AfC Band 3, pro rata) with the High Secure Environmental Allowance (£1,818.72 p.a. pro rata) and High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance (£4,365.11 p.a. pro rata).

You will support registered nursing staff to deliver high quality, person-centred care for patients with mental health illness and learning disability in a forensic environment. Hours are varied; the post is permanent with a 4-on/2-off pattern including three 12-hour night

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in healthcare or working towards.
• Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of basic information technology.
• Commitment to completing required training within two years.

Responsibilities

• Support registered nursing staff to deliver high quality, person-centred care for patients with mental health illness and learning disability in a forensic environment.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively.
• Carry out assigned patient care tasks and maintain basic IT literacy.
