Job summary

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke, MA, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) on a PRN basis for the Forensic Unit. Qualifications

• High school degree preferred.
• CPR certification and CPI within 30 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license and a favorable MVR, along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Observation and maintenance of a safe milieu through patient checks and safety monitoring (15-minute checks, contraband monitoring, condition change evaluation).
• Adheres to RN-delegated tasks including vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
• Demonstrates milieu management skills to promote positive patient experiences.
• Accompanies patients to off-unit activities, meals, breaks, visits, and appointments.
• Reports all medical or psychiatric changes to the RN.
• Assists with admission processes including belongings inventory and unit visits as delegated.
