Principal Consultant - Building Diagnostics & Structural Engineering

Title: Forensic Architect

Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 (depending on location and level of experience)

Overview

We are seeking a full‑time Forensic Architect to join a growing national diagnostics and consulting team. This role combines technical expertise in building enclosure systems with leadership in forensic investigations, repair design, and project management.

The successful candidate will lead complex projects across the US, ranging from building envelope failures and moisture intrusion to litigation support and premises liability claims.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include conducting forensic investigations, assessing and designing repairs, reviewing new and existing construction for performance and compliance, overseeing documentation and testing, and serving as the primary client contact.

Essential Functions
  • Manage building envelope and forensic projects from investigation to construction administration.
  • Perform condition assessments, forensic investigations, and performance analysis of enclosure systems.
  • Design and document repair solutions for façades, roofing, and enclosure assemblies.
  • Oversee field testing, inspections, and reporting.
  • Provide litigation support and expert reporting when required.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Licensed Architect or ability to obtain, and has 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical writing and client communication skills.
  • Experience in forensic consulting, litigation support, or building performance analysis preferred.
