Job summary

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Office of the Medical Investigator, Albuquerque, NM, seeks an Accessioning Tech. This entry-level role requires handling decedents with adherence to protocols, ensuring confidentiality, and maintaining chain of custody while collaborating with law enforcement, funeral homes, and transporters.

You will work 2nd and 3rd shifts, up to 10 hours, in a challenging environment. Training and benefits are provided by UNM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in lab/clinical settings; familiarity with death investigations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and preserve chain of custody.
• Move decedents safely using appropriate equipment.
• Establish, updates and maintains unit files and records.
• Implements and maintains data management systems; works with medical investigators.
