Job summary

Pike Electric LLC seeks a safety‑focused Foreman to lead a crew in constructing and repairing underground distribution systems. You will oversee energized and de-energized lines, manage safety briefings, and coordinate with the General Foreman across multiple job sites.

The role requires 5+ years of underground line experience, a CDL, and willingness to travel and work outages or emergencies. You will mentor junior staff while ensuring project quality and on‑time completion.

Qualifications

  • Willing to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
  • Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

  • Coach and train lower classification employees in safe procedures.

Job description

The Foreman is a safety focused professional with the ability to lead a crew to construct and repair electrical underground distribution systems. You will work on energized and de ‑ energized powerlines and may be required to travel to different job sites, including out ‑ of ‑ state locations, as operational and customer needs dictate. You will report to the General Foreman.

Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de ‑ energized underground distribution systems while putting safety first.

Lead crew members and conduct pre-job and tailgate safety briefings.

Must be experienced with coaching and training lower classification employees in safe and productive work procedures.

Oversee work related to each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and completion deadline.

Install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, including trouble shooting and fault locating on primary and secondary systems.

Comprehensive knowledge of switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized and de-energized lines while using the proper tools and test equipment.

Understand how and when to obtain a one shot on a reclosing device.

Work in confined spaces, and in proximity to energized equipment.

Operate and maintain excavation equipment to include backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.

Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.

Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.

Perform live ‑ line work using approved PPE and insulated sticks required for testing voltage and switching of energized lines.

Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and possess a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.

Five (5) years of recent underground line experience.

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Willing to travel long distances on short notice.

Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work for extended periods at job locations, including out ‑ of ‑ state assignments.

Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
