Job summary

OBR Management is seeking a Foreman for the Southeast Region in Georgia. The role supports the Superintendent with scheduling, planning, coordinating, and cost control on cooling tower projects. Extensive travel is required to oversee crews and ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance.

You will read blueprints, lead safety meetings, supervise field crews, and manage subcontractors as needed, while maintaining adherence to company policies and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of field cooling tower construction experience.
• At least 1 year as a Foreman in cooling tower construction.
• Familiarity with Windows-based applications.
• Knowledge and application of OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Superintendent in scheduling, planning, coordinating, supervising and cost control.
• Oversee crews erecting and repairing cooling towers and ensure safety.
• Lead technicians to complete tasks safely, on time and to quality standards.
• Occasionally manage inspections or small projects when Superintendents are absent.
• Read blueprints and building plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Lead daily/weekly safety meetings and file incident reports as required.
• Align mechanical equipment, assist with framing and material installation.
• Travel extensively to project sites as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

5+ years field cooling tower construction

1 year foreman experience in cooling tower construction

About the role:

The Foreman provides leadership and support to the Superintendent in scheduling, planning, coordinating, supervising, and cost control.

Extensive travel is required depending on project location.

Roles/Tasks of the Position:

• Ensure safety, compliance with OBR policies, and fair application of procedures at the worksite.
• Oversee training, productivity, and performance of crews erecting and repairing cooling towers.
• Lead cooling tower technicians to ensure tasks assigned by the Superintendent are executed safely, efficiently, on time, and to OBR quality standards.
• Occasionally manage inspections or small projects independently in the absence of Superintendents and oversee field subcontractors.
• Read blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Lead daily and weekly safety meetings; complete incident reports as required.
• Align mechanical equipment, perform piping, and assist with framework erection and material installation.
• Perform work at heights while maintaining 100% tie-off when above 4 feet.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisors and Managers.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in field cooling tower construction.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Foreman in cooling tower construction.
• Knowledge of Windows based applications.
• Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this role, with reasonable accommodation provided as needed. Requirements include:

• Outdoor or plant settings with exposure to weather, heat, noise, and nearby hazardous chemicals
• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and stoop as needed.
• Stand, walk, sit, crawl, squat, kneel, and reach (outward/above shoulders).
• Perform keyboarding/typing and reading from screens or paper.
• Manage high workloads and multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Communicate effectively verbally.

PREREQUISITES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Negative 10-panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.
• Valid Driver's License and proof of U.S. Citizenship.
• Score of 2 or less in Disa.
