Job summary

Future, a Primoris Company, is seeking a skilled equipment operator and crew lead for construction projects. The role involves directing workers on site, selecting appropriate machinery, and ensuring safe operation of bulldozers and graders.

You will train staff, monitor production, and keep accurate time and equipment records. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in heavy construction, with preferred forklift certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; 5+ years experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift/move 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect work areas to determine required work and equipment.
  • Direct and supervise crew on roadwork and drainage projects.
  • Operate bulldozers and graders and train workers in equipment use.
  • Perform daily and weekly vehicle inspections and maintenance.
  • Maintain time and production records and report findings.

Job Overview: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
  • Directs workers in projects such as construction of ditches and roadways and grading drainage areas.
  • Operates equipment such as bulldozers and graders and trains workers in equipment operation.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Understands and is able to perform project by scope of work.
  • Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Understands and follows MUTCD traffic control.
  • Visible inspection of crew truck/vehicle.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Assists skilled laborers & laborers when needed.
  • Fueling & maintain equipment.
  • Able to perform non-mechanical tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Prepare trucks, materials for job.
  • Keep trucks & equipment clean.
  • Does daily visual inspections & weekly written inspections when driving vehicles.
  • Loads and unloads truck.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water and make repairs as needed.
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs and tire chains.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Make sure all necessary documents are current in truck i.e. registration, inspection and insurance cards.
  • Follow directions from supervisors.
  • Hand digging and related jobs that require physical labor.
  • Ability to perform non-mechanical tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Responsible to assist w/emergencies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds Standing, walking including and primarily on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously Forklift Certified Preferred

Work Environment: Employees will be subjected to outside weather conditions Employees could be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold, heat and humidity. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud The employee is frequently exposed to slow- or fast-moving traffic in the work environment
