Overview

The Foreman I will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of construction crews, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of steel erection and installation projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who have strong leadership skills and a proven track record of success in construction supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead construction crews, including ironworkers, welders, and equipment operators, to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols; assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members, monitor work progress, and provide guidance and support to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures; conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections to identify and address potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work performed by construction crews to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards; identify and address deficiencies or non-conformities in workmanship, materials, or equipment, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment needed for construction activities, ensuring availability and readiness for use; monitor equipment usage and maintenance schedules, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed to minimize downtime and ensure productivity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction crews; coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and schedule work activities, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, and safety incidents; prepare and submit daily reports, progress updates, and other documentation as required by project specifications or company procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in construction management, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction, with a focus on steel erection and installation.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate construction crews.
  • Thorough understanding of construction techniques, safety regulations, and quality standards related to steel fabrication and erection.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in reading construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
