UIS is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction company that provides fully integrated design-build services for the high-technology industry, producing manufacturing facilities. Our scope includes engineering design, high-tech factory planning, and on-time delivery of equipment, clean-room systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and tool hook-up.

Summary

The Electrical Foreman will lead a team of electrical technicians performing installation, termination, tracking, troubleshooting, QA/QC, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient construction operation. The foreman supports all areas of electrical needs on site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Electrical Technicians, managing onsite manpower and ensuring task accuracy.
  • Perform hands‑on cabling, termination, and QA/QC work on electrical systems.
  • Compile weekly and monthly inspection and maintenance reports as directed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of systems, equipment, and components to identify potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions for uninterrupted operations.
  • Repair or replace defective components, wiring or equipment.
  • Install and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other teams to plan and execute electrical projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Review progress reports, material usage, costs, and contract payment applications; adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Respond to RFIs, change orders, and emergency electrical issues promptly.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff.
  • Stay informed of advances in electrical technology and best practices.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4–5+ years as an electrician or similar role.
  • 1+ year supervisory experience.
  • OSHA 10 certificate required.
  • Completed apprenticeship program or related certification in electrical work is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • In‑depth knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and using engineering software such as AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and detail orientation.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure on a construction site (trailer office).
  • Ability to use engineering software and interpret technical plans.

Nice to have

  • NFPA 70E training.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • CPR/First‑Aid certification.
  • Foreign language skills (Mandarin or Spanish).

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • May be required to travel to other Arizona sites.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role requires lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, with frequent standing, walking, and sitting, often at a computer. The foreman works at a construction trailer office and moves between the trailer and various site areas. Exposure to typical construction hazards (dust, machinery, weather, chemicals, noise) exists; UIS provides required safety protection according to OSHA standards.
