Job summary

Eleven Western Builders in California is seeking an experienced Foreman Carpenter to lead carpentry crews on retail construction projects from start to finish. You will plan activities, read blueprints, manage schedules, and ensure safety and quality on site.

You’ll coordinate with project teams, supervise journeymen and apprentices, forecast material needs, and deliver projects on time while upholding our standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial carpentry experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading crews or as a foreman.
• Experience with retail, commercial, tenant improvements, or remodel construction.
• Strong skills in framing, drywall, finish carpentry, fixture installation, and millwork.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead teams while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades on active construction sites.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of carpenters and assistant carpenters.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Foreman Carpenter, you'll be responsible for leading carpentry crews and executing retail construction projects from start to finish.

Typical scopes of work include:

• Millwork, cabinetry, fixture, display, and décor package installation
• Rough carpentry, framing, drywall, and interior finish work
• Wall panels, trim, doors, hardware, and accessory installation
• Retail remodels, tenant improvements, and store refresh projects

In addition to performing carpentry work, you'll:

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of carpenters and assistant carpenters
• Plan work activities and sequence tasks to maintain production goals
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules
• Perform layout and ensure installations meet project requirements
• Monitor workmanship and maintain high quality standards
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, vendors, and store personnel

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of commercial carpentry experience
• 3+ years of experience leading crews or serving as a Lead Carpenter or Foreman
• Experience with retail, commercial, tenant improvement, or remodel construction
• Strong skills in framing, drywall, finish carpentry, fixture installation, and millwork
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Proven ability to lead teams while maintaining productivity and quality
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in active construction environments
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as project schedules require
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork
