Job summary

A prominent aggregate production company in Texas is seeking a Yard Foreman to oversee daily operations at their crushing facility. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in aggregate production or heavy construction.
  • 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining crushing and screening equipment.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, and skid steers.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily yard operations and manage yard crew.
  • Operate crushing equipment to ensure optimal production.
  • Enforce safety compliance and conduct safety meetings.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team.
  • Monitor and manage incoming concrete rubble, ensuring proper material acceptance and rejection of contaminated or non-conforming loads.
  • Manage stockpile inventory levels and coordinate with dispatch and sales teams to ensure adequate material availability for customer orders.
  • Enforce strict compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulations and safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings.
  • Maintain accurate daily production logs, equipment maintenance records, and material inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, customers, and vendors entering the yard to ensure efficient traffic flow and loading operations.
  • Manage yard cleanliness and environmental controls including dust suppression, stormwater management, and noise mitigation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding production status, equipment issues, staffing needs, and operational concerns.

Job description

The Yard Foreman is responsible for the daily oversight and management of operations at the La cima Yard crushing facility. This hands-on leadership role ensures the safe, efficient, and productive operation of concrete crushing equipment, manages yard crew members, coordinates material processing and inventory, and maintains compliance with all environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude and proven leadership experience in aggregate production, concrete recycling, or heavy equipment operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate daily yard operations including concrete crushing, screening, stockpiling, and material loading.
  • Operate and oversee the operation of crushing equipment (jaw crushers, impact crushers, screening plants, conveyors) to ensure optimal production output and material quality.
  • Lead, train, and manage yard crew members; assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and enforce adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and ensure all machinery is maintained in safe working condition; coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the maintenance team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in aggregate production, concrete crushing/recycling, mining, or heavy construction operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience operating and maintaining crushing and screening equipment.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, and skid steers.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, production reports, and safety documentation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; able to lead a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills necessary with crew demographics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 training certification.
  • Experience with concrete recycling operations specifically.
  • CDL (Class A or B) a plus.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification.
  • Experience with fleet/equipment management software.
  • First Aid / CPR certification.
