Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking a Foreman to lead daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course. You will supervise grounds staff, balance hands-on work with oversight, and implement agronomic and maintenance programs to ensure quality course conditions.

The role requires strong leadership, outdoor stamina, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in a fast-paced golf environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain course accessibility, playability, and visual standards using mowing, edging, weeding, raking bunkers, sod installation, planting, and landscape care.
  • Perform weed abatement, pest control, irrigation, fertilization, and drainage per agronomic plans and safety standards.
  • Maintain appearance and functionality of each hole, including cup changes, tee marker placement, towel rotation, trash removal, and ball washer upkeep.
  • Assist with operation and monitoring of the irrigation system for turf health.
  • Oversee equipment operation, maintenance, and safety per manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
  • Provide direction and oversight to team members during shifts and projects.

Job Purpose

The Foreman plays a critical leadership role in the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course. This position oversees assigned grounds operations, ensures consistent course conditions, and supports the Superintendent and General Manager through staff leadership, training, and execution of agronomic and maintenance programs. The Foreman serves as a working leader who balances hands-on maintenance with team oversight and operational accountability.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain course accessibility, playability, and visual standards using power and hand tools for mowing, edging, weeding, raking bunkers, sod installation, planting, and landscape care.
  • Perform weed abatement, pest control, irrigation, cultivating, fertilization, and drainage activities in accordance with agronomic plans and safety standards.
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of each hole, including cup changes, tee marker placement, towel rotation, trash removal, and ball washer upkeep.
  • Assist with proper operation and monitoring of the irrigation system to ensure optimal turf health.
  • Operate, maintain, and inspect mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company safety policies.
  • Identify and communicate equipment, agronomic, or facility issues to management promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance facility.
  • Assist the Superintendent with training, scheduling, and evaluation of maintenance staff.
  • Provide direction and oversight to team members during assigned shifts or projects.
  • May serve as acting or weekend supervisor as needed.
  • Promote consistency, efficiency, and accountability across maintenance operations.
  • Perform manual labor as required to support daily operations and special projects.
  • Implement and support all American Golf initiatives, programs, and operational standards.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management to meet business and course needs.
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and sprayers.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialty or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking team members preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn evolving equipment and systems.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a high level of reliability and work ethic.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Working Conditions
  • Schedule varies based on business needs; evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
  • Role involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and use of hands and fingers.
