Job summary

Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington, Vermont, is seeking a Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish) for a full-time position starting immediately. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in the related content area and Vermont Certification with endorsement in Spanish and/or French;

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of subject through instructional practices
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of district curriculum goals by designing and implementing lessons that promote growth in students' language proficiency in all modes of the language: speaking, listening, reading, writing and culture, using a variety of instructional techniques
• Use assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment
• Develop written lesson plans in advance
• Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students
• Work with colleagues to develop and maintain a performance-based curriculum and criteria for standards-based grading
• Implement administrative directives in a professional manner
• Adhere to all District policies and regulations
