Job summary

Ladgov Corporation seeks a Foreign Language Interpreter to support Blanchfield Army Community Hospital and associated clinics. The role includes telephonic, on-site, and video interpretation as assignments require.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic interpretation between English-speaking personnel and LEP individuals.

• Accurately interpret conversations without adding, omitting, or altering meaning.
• Respond professionally to scheduled, short-notice, and emergency interpretation assignments and maintain confidentiality.

Job description

Schedule:

On-call/as-needed position. Telephonic interpretation services may be required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. On-site assignments are generally performed during Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s normal business hours, Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM , excluding Federal holidays. Short-notice and emergency assignments may also occur.

Summary:

The Foreign Language Interpreter will provide professional interpretation services in support of patients, medical personnel, staff, and other authorized individuals at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) and associated clinics at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The interpreter may provide services by telephone, in person, or through video interpretation , depending on the assignment. Candidates may support common or uncommon foreign languages and must accurately communicate information between English-speaking and limited-English-proficiency individuals.

Requirements:

• Must demonstrate professional proficiency in English and at least one foreign language and be qualified to provide interpretation in that language.
• Must have appropriate interpreter training, certification/credentials, experience, or documented professional competency applicable to interpretation services.
• Must maintain confidentiality, follow professional interpreter standards and ethics, and be capable of providing accurate interpretation without adding, omitting, or changing information.

• Provide professional telephonic interpretation between English-speaking personnel and limited-English-proficiency individuals.
• Provide on-site face-to-face foreign language interpretation for medical appointments, meetings, consultations, and other authorized activities.
• Provide video remote interpretation when requested.
• Accurately interpret conversations without adding, omitting, summarizing, or altering the meaning of the communication.
• Respond professionally to scheduled, short-notice, and emergency interpretation assignments and maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times.
