Job summary

AutoFair Ford is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to join our team at the heavy duty truck center on Brown Ave. We are growing and have more work than we can handle in the shop, with top-notch advisors and a focus on customer care.

Qualifications

  • Diesel qualified and certified; diagnostic, electrical and engine repair preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.

Responsibilities

  • Document and perform work as outlined on repair orders following dealership and factory standards.
  • Inspect and service vehicle systems including engine, electrical, brakes and suspension.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and communicate findings to Service Advisor.
  • Order parts as needed and ensure shop area is organized and safe.
  • Provide estimates of time and ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Test-drive vehicles and verify repairs meet manufacturer specifications.

AutoFair Ford is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to join our team. We are growing our business. Our heavy duty truck center is now operational on Brown Ave. We currently have more work than we can handle in the shop. Our advisors are among the best in the business and need qualified technicians to help our customers maintain and repair their vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Document and perform work as outlined on repair order following all dealership and factory standards.
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters.
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary.
  • Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
  • Genuine desire to serve the team as a "team player"
  • Diesel qualified and certified, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair preferred but not required
  • Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong physical dexterity for working with tools
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills, positive, friendly attitudeStrong communication skills, collaborates well with others
  • Punctual and reliable Eagerness to improve
  • Basic computer skills
  • Military experience welcomed but not necessary
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
