QUALIFICATIONS include Virginia medical license, DPM from an accredited school, residency completion, and the ability to diagnose and treat foot and ankle conditions using evidence-based methods.

Qualifications

• Licensed podiatrist in Virginia
• Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program
• New grads are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of medical ethics and standard of care

Responsibilities

• Examine patient’s legs and feet to diagnose diseases
• Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
• Perform wound care management
• Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, exams, X-rays and labs
• Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
• Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques for prevention
• Provide education and consultation to patients, family, and health care team
• Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
• Maintain accurate medical records
