Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant to support the orthopaedic foot and ankle division. The APP will assist surgeons in outpatient clinics and in the operating room, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care.

The role requires a Master of Science, PA-C certification, and National Board Certification, with experience and credentialing approvals. It is based at multiple Penn Medicine locations and involves collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Master of Science required for the PA role.
• PA-C: Master’s degree and >2.5 years of experience.
• National Board Certification required; Credentials Committee review and Medical Board approval.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical care for patient population per established protocols.
• Maintains accurate and confidential medical records in the EHR.
• Identifies self to patient and clarifies the APP role when needed.
• Functions within scope and refers to supervising physician when outside scope or at patient/family request.
• Participates in performance improvement processes to meet care and service standards.
• Demonstrates professional responsibility as a role model to the health care team.
• Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient status.
• Addresses patient and family concerns and builds a therapeutic relationship.
• Provides patient education, counseling and prevention information.
• Participates in accreditation, compliance and regulatory activities.
