Job Overview

Full time Food Unit Lead positions at Chartwells K12 in Munster, IN. Location: 8616 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN 46321. Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Pay: $16.00–$21.00 per hour. Open to online applications only.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service by giving one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control.
• Help plan menus.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and supervise serving of meals.
• Respond to customer complaints in person at the time and via email for electronic complaints.
• Train employees; assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
• Use proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll and time‑keeping.
• Handle cash as established by the Food Accounting Manual (deposits – petty cash – change funds).
• Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
• Direct and participate in overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations.
• Develop sanitation schedule and ensure food‑service employees adhere to cleaning of kitchen and dining area and washing of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Select and orient employees; oversee staff training in areas of responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
