Job summary

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Planning & Research Associate II, is located in Augusta and may operate under the DACF Telework Policy. The role supports administration of the USDA Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and oversees a ~ $700,000 annual allocation to the Maine Senior FarmShare Program, focusing on data-driven planning and grant compliance.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in planning and research principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Experience in food-supply-chain systems and delivering business technical support to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of federal grant programs and ability to interpret and administer program requirements and prepare reports.
  • Experience monitoring and auditing grant projects and/or subaward contracts to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex planning and technical research for program development.
  • Assist in administration and deployment of a federal grant program and coordinate with subrecipients and agencies.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data to inform policies and resource utilization of USDA funds.
  • Coordinate program outreach, data entry, invoicing and performance reports, and budgeting.
  • Assist subrecipients with project management, reporting and compliance activities; draft testimony and reports.
