Job summary

UNC Health’s Rex FNS Main in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Full Time Food Service Worker to support tray preparation, delivery, and sanitation tasks with attention to dietary accuracy and customer service.

The role requires adherence to sanitary standards and may include variable shifts. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided. Onsite work schedule is 40 hours per week. Competitive hourly pay range is offered.

Responsibilities

• Assists with dirty food tray removal from nursing units.
• Assists with early and late food tray deliveries in a timely manner.
• Assists with tray preparation and/or delivery and ensures tray accuracy and adherence to special diets.
• Assists with tray preparation during meal service hours.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas, including dish room; washes dishes by hand or machine.
• Delivers food trays or nourishments to patient rooms or nursing units.
• Maintains compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA health standards and training.
• Transports food in kitchen and on patient trays using proper protocol (hair restraint, gloves, proper covering).

Summary: This position assists higher-level personnel in preparing and serving food, and maintaining a clean work area Work is reviewed for adherence to sanitary standards and completion of assignments.

• 5. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas, including dish room. Washes dishes by hand or by machine.
• 6. Delivers food trays or nourishments to patient's rooms or nursing units.
• 7. Maintains compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA regarding on-going required job training and health standards,
• 8. Transfers food in kitchen and on patient trays in a timely manner and using proper protocol (wears hair restraint, gloves, and properly covers food to prevent contamination).
