Job summary

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) is seeking a Food Service Worker to perform contract duties and deliver quality customer service. This role requires learning all aspects of the job and adhering to the contract specifications under the guidance of management.

Responsibilities include following instructions, interacting with customers and government personnel, and meeting contract eligibility and screening requirements. This is a field-based position with potential travel and flexible hours.

Overview

The Food Service Worker is responsible for safely performing contract duties as assigned by management. Quality customer service is expected to be provided at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.

Role Requirements
  • Must understand oral and/or written instructions
  • Must interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, and staff members.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract(s).
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
Compensation:

Compensation for this position will be $18.40 per hour. The federal government pays Health and Welfare (H&W) dollars on behalf of team members covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). The current H&W rate is $4.93 per eligible hours worked and are applied to employee benefits.

Physical Requirements

May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours and weekends and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
