Job summary

Boys Town in Omaha, NE is seeking a part-time Food Service Associate to prepare nutritious meals for youth and maintain kitchen standards. The role offers 30 hours per week with shifts from 2:30 PM–7:00 PM or two 12-hour shifts, including Sundays.

You'll work under federal sanitation guidelines, operate dish machines, ovens, and refrigeration, and communicate professionally while multitasking to uphold quality and safety in a dynamic kitchen environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Who We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous work experience in food services is preferred.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Subject to environmental conditions such as walk in coolers, freezers, stoves, ovens and steam tables. Exposure to odors, steam, and cleaning solutions.
  • Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Position requires moderate physical activity handling of average weight objects up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally; standing and/or walking continuously. Subject to inside environmental conditions, with exposure to extreme cold from walk-in coolers and freezers and extreme heat working with stoves, ovens, and steam tables. Exposure to odors, cleaning solutions, and kitchen equipment.
