Job summary

Genuine Foods is seeking a Food Service Worker to operate at school sites in Gretna, LA. You will prepare and serve meals in accordance with recipe standards and USDA guidelines, while delivering exceptional service to students, teachers, and parents.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible & team-oriented.
• Previous food or customer service experience in a mid-high volume facility or restaurant.
• Willingness to learn USDA National School Lunch Program compliance.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headedness.
• Punctual and able to adhere to time/attendance policy.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interest in Genuine Foods’ mission to nourish students.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food served meets Genuine Foods quality and safety standards.
• Serve food to students and staff with a positive attitude.
• Coordinate with team to ensure food is ready and served on time.
• Keep kitchen and serving areas clean and sanitized.
• Stock and organize kitchen/serving areas for efficient service.
• Report issues to Site Lead or Manager on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Food Service Worker position will be at an elementary, middle, or high school site. The Food Service Worker performs a variety of job responsibilities including serving food and helping finish preparing food in accordance with recipe standards and the USDA National School Lunch compliance. This position will engage with students, teachers, and parents with superior customer service, embodying the Genuine way. There are opportunities to learn culinary skills to advance your career.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all food being served is up to Genuine Foods' quality while following food safety standards.
• Serve food to students and staff with a positive, upbeat attitude.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure all food is ready and served on time.
• Keep all areas clean and sanitized.
• Stock and organize all areas of the kitchen/serving area to keep ease of service.
• Alert Site Lead or Manager on duty of any issues promptly.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
