Job summary

Quest Food Management Services, Inc. seeks a Food Service Worker I to provide excellent customer service while preparing, serving, and maintaining food stations in a school environment. Follow Quest safety standards and work as part of a team to keep stations clean and organized.

Position Summary

Provides excellent customer service while preparing, serving, and maintaining food stations. Creates a positive guest experience while following Quest food safety, sanitation, and service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items, including pizzas, deli items, salads, desserts, smoothies, and fresh fruit.
• Set up, maintain, and replenish food stations throughout meal periods.
• Slice meats and cheeses and prepare food according to established standards.
• Maintain accurate food temperature logs.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Work effectively as part of a team and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow Quest policies and applicable state and local food safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Food service experience preferred, particularly in schools or higher education.
• Food Handler certification or ability to obtain certification as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Friendly, dependable, customer-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and use hands frequently.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform basic knife and food preparation skills.
• May work around heat, steam, noise, odors, cleaning chemicals, and walk-in freezers.
• Kitchen environment with low to moderate noise levels.
