Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in Toledo, OH is seeking a Food Service Worker (full time) to prepare, present and serve food at South Dining, University of Toledo. The role includes training, flexible shifts, and full union benefits.

Responsibilities include prep work, portion control, safety compliance, and friendly customer service. Prior food service experience is preferred but training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience in a similar role is preferred but training will be provided.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion controls, and food safety standards.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and serve food as needed.
• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure ingredients to spec; store foods with proper dating and rotation.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment; monitor portion controls and serving temperatures.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner and address concerns with supervisor input.

• We are hiring immediately for a FOOD SERVICE WORKER (FULL TIME) position.

• Schedule: Full Time; Shifts mary vary with needs of business - open availability! Hours of operation span weekdays & weekends 7AM-1130PM. Discuss options in interview.
• Requirement: Prior food service experience in similar role; We will train for the position!
• Fixed Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour + full union benefits

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
