Canteen, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring a Food Service Worker for the Tar Heel, NC location. The role involves preparing and serving food, maintaining hygiene, and delivering friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule is full-time, 6:30 am–2:00 pm, with Saturdays required. Benefits include comprehensive health, retirement and discount programs. Prior customer service experience is preferred and occasional heavy lifting may be required.

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality and safety.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time FOOD SERVICE WORKER position.
• Location: Canteen - 15855 Highway 87, Tar Heel, NC 28392. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule. Days may vary; 6:30 am to 2:00 pm. Must be able to work Saturdays .Further details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous customer service experience preferred. This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Fixed Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour.

Job Summary

• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
