Compass Group USA at Rutgers University – Newark, New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Full-time Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve food in a fast-paced campus dining setting.

Responsibilities include prep work, portion control, serving customers with courtesy, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Prior food service experience is preferred; the schedule may vary by day, with a fixed pay rate of $15.92 per hour.

• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from stations according to safety standards.
• Stores food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portions.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, and company service standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.


• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.


• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.


• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.


• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.


• Performs other duties as assigned.
