Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at UNC Charlotte is hiring a FOOD SERVICE WORKER to join our dining team. The role supports food preparation, serving and customer service in a fast-paced campus setting. Full- and part-time schedules are available, with shifts including afternoons and evenings.

Pay ranges from $15.00 to $18.50 per hour, with benefits such as uniform provision and shift meals. Experience is preferred but not required, and online applications are accepted for immediate

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Washes, peels, cuts and seeds fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food with wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies and portable equipment.
• Uses approved recipes and portion control to ensure quality and serving temperatures.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures sanitation, safety, inventory and cash-control compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
