• We have an opening for full-time and part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions.
• Location: RA at Brooklyn Botanic Garden - 990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225 Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

Summary: Performs cashiering duties, including general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in food prep, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prep work: washing, peeling, cutting, seeding fruits and vegetables; measuring ingredients.
• Transporting food and supplies safely.
• Storing foods properly with adherence to safety standards.
• Cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensuring sanitation and safety compliance.
• Using recipes and standards for quality and portion control.
• Serving customers courteously and efficiently.
• Resolving customer complaints amicably.
• Relaying information to supervisors.
• Handling sales transactions accurately.
• Managing cash and accepting various payment methods.
• Issuing receipts and refunds according to procedures.
• Managing cash drawer and change funds responsibly.
• Replenishing supplies and maintaining cleanliness.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
