Chartwells School Dining Services K12 is hiring a Food Service Worker/Cashier in Mesa, Arizona. This full-time position involves performing cashier duties and maintaining sanitation standards while serving food in an educational facility.

Position Overview

Food Service Worker/Cashier — full‑time. Hiring immediately.

Location: American Leadership Academy, 5901 East Thomas Road, Mesa, AZ 85215. Online applications only.

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, full‑time (hours may vary; details upon interview).

Requirements: Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.

Job Summary

Performs cashiering duties, including general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining room facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares food by washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables; weighs and measures ingredients.
• Carrys pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards; distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Stores foods in designated areas per wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control.
• Serves customers friendly and efficiently following outlined service steps.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Relays relevant information to the supervisor.
• Processes sales transactions; enters purchases into the cash register accurately.
• Makes change, accepts debit/credit cards and other payment forms.
• Issues receipts and follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Manages assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
