Role Description

The Food Service Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for assisting with daily food preparation, setting up service stations, and serving guests in a timely and courteous manner. Duties include maintaining a clean and organized work area, following food safety and sanitation standards, and restocking supplies as needed. The Food Service Worker supports meal service during peak times, handles basic cashless transactions or order systems as applicable, and collaborates with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a smooth dining experience. The role may also involve light dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and helping with opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Food Preparation and Food & Beverage handling.
• Candidates should possess experience in Food Service and providing a positive dining experience.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Food Safety practices, including sanitation and safe food handling.
• Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Prior experience in cafeteria, restaurant, or institutional food service is beneficial but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; food safety or ServSafe certification is a plus.
