Job summary

Trinity Services Group Inc. in Warren, OH is seeking a cook to join our cafeteria team. You will prepare a variety of food items following menus, safety procedures, and portion controls while working a steady pace in a high-volume kitchen. This role requires reliability and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 18.
• At least one year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior cafeteria or large-volume kitchen experience is a plus.
• Experience with safety procedures typical in a cafeteria environment.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List at shift start and complete opening/closing checklists.
• Set up workstation with all ingredients and equipment.
• Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Follow standard portions, cooking methods, quality standards and policies.
• Store, label, and rotate products per state laws.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food at line stations.
• Understand and prep ingredients; know menu items.
• Handle hot/cold work conditions; multitask in high-volume kitchen.
• Stand for extended periods; perform other duties as assigned.

About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.

Must be available to work an 8‑10 hour shift during operation hours.

Hours of operation 5:00am - 6:00pm.

The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions, menus, and guidelines while following food safety and food handling procedures.

Essential Functions / Core Responsibilities

• Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and completes opening and closing checklists daily.
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items.
• Must be comfortable using and operating a variety of equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures.
• Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws.
• Follow assigned instructions to properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food.
• Clear understanding of menu items.
• Understand and responsible for prepping ingredients.
• Strong grasp on various cooking methods, food items, equipment, etc.
• Be able to multitask in a high‑volume kitchen.
• Be able to handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation.
• This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus.
• Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
