Role Description

The Food Service Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Texarkana, AR. This role is responsible for assisting with daily meal preparation, portioning, and serving food to students in a friendly and efficient manner. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down service areas, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining spaces, and following established food safety and sanitation procedures. The Food Service Worker will handle basic cashier or serving duties, restock supplies, and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth, timely service. This position supports a positive cafeteria atmosphere by providing courteous customer service and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for students.

Qualifications

• Food preparation and food service skills, including the ability to follow recipes, portion meals, and serve food efficiently.


• Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


• Experience or comfort working in food & beverage settings, such as cafeterias, restaurants, or other food service operations.


• Customer service skills, including clear communication, patience, and a friendly approach to interacting with students, staff, and visitors.


• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.


• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a diverse team with a positive, respectful attitude.


• Previous school dining or institutional food service experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to complete any required background checks and compliance training.
