Position Summary

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in a correctional facility's food service operations. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food according to menus and recipes, and utilizing various kitchen utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in food preparation following menus and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Utilize kitchen equipment and utensils properly
• Follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policies
• Manage waste and keep the kitchen environment clean
• Ensure proper portions and utensils are used

• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license
• Experience in institutional or restaurant food service is a plus but not required
