Job summary

Pearl of Rolling Meadows in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks a caring Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in our healthcare facility, including breakfast, lunch and dinner while following dietary restrictions.

You will work with the kitchen team to ensure sanitation, quality and timely service, maintain confidentiality, and adapt recipes for varying resident needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent (at a minimum).
• One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
• Must have a sanitation certificate.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY:As a Cook at Pearl of Rolling Meadows, you will prepare and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following specific dietary restrictions and providing alternatives for residents in our healthcare facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Some experience in institutional cooking; experience as a cook.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Sincere desire to work with elders and others who have a limited capacity for self-care.
• Mental & physical capacity to perform the essential job functions with or without accommodations.
