Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to manage inmate labor and kitchen teams inside a correctional facility. Prepare and serve a variety of items following menus and instructions, using a range of utensils and equipment.

You report to the Food Service Director and work on-site inside a jail facility. Ideal candidates are passionate about food, understand handling regulations, and can work as a team while adapting quickly to changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 18+ years old.
• Prefer experience in institutional food service or food prep.
• Willing to train and advance within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff during prep and service.
• Serve meals according to schedules and recipes.
• Operate kitchen utensils/equipment and portion meals.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a safe, hygienic work environment.
• Stand, lift, bend and move during extended shifts.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions / Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
