Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services in North Carolina is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a kitchen, train workers, and coordinate tasks to meet production plans while ensuring safety and sanitation.

You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, following Aramark recipes, and adhering to all food safety standards as you support daily operations in a correctional facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related experience.
• Knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation helps.
• Ability to read and write to communicate with others.
• Basic math and counting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
• Follows proper food handling procedures.
• Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
• Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and store according to Aramark standards.
• Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
• Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment per food safety standards.
• Completes all required training.

Job Description

The Food Service Worker supervises inmates in a kitchen environment to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. In this role, you will train workers in methods of performing duties, as well as assign and coordinate work to promote the efficiency of operations. This person is also responsible for the sanitation of the facility and maintaining personal safety, by conforming to all standards and regulations. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a correctional facility. Background check required.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
• Follows proper food handling procedures.
• Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
• Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards.
• Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
• Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
• Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
• Completes all required training.
