Food Service Worker

The full continuum of River Edge Behavioral Health services provides state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and adults annually, who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
River Edge is currently looking for a Food Service Worker to prepare meals for clients at our large commercial kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a consistent work history in a large food service kitchen and the ability to work well with a team preparing and serving over 500 meals a day.
Under general supervision of the Food Service Manager this position plans, prepares, cooks, and serves meals to students, clients, and staff in a cafeteria setting. Will perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Location: LifeSPRING kitchen
Schedule: Monday-Friday 5:30am-1:30pm, with 1 weekend per month Sat/Sun and all Holidays.
Full-time position with benefits.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate excellent customer service with a positive demeanor when dealing with clients.
- Adhere to food safety standards at all times, making sure that all food is free or contaminants and pathogens that might make clients sick.
- Clean pots, pans, and any other dishes in the kitchen as needed, adhering to safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Reasonable computer skills (time clock, email).
- Kitchen/Food service experience optional but helpful.
- Agrees without reservation to work schedule and maintain good attendance and punctuality.
